Security Information in Proceedings Legislation Bill

Introduced on Nov 25. The bill amends several pieces of legislation to provide an overarching framework for dealing with national security information in court proceedings. It is the govt’s response to Part 2 of the Law Commission’s report – The Crown in Court: A Review of the Crown Proceedings Act and National Security Information in Proceedings. First reading on Dec 14 with all parties in support and sent to the justice committee. Second reading completed on Sept 29 with the Greens and Te Paati Māori opposed.
